In depth
Verdict
Henry Hall deserves to get his head in front after a string of decent efforts and is finally taken to do so at the main expense of Trick Cyclist and One Way Ticket. The last mentioned represents the in-form yard of Milton Bradley and has to be respected on recent evidence but is 7lbs worse in with the selection for a short head on their running at Ripon last month and may be too high in the weights now. Alan Berry's Frascati is capable of taking a hand off his current mark but is proving difficult to win with, while Stargem is creeping up in the weights despite not winning. The David Nicholls-trained Theatre of Dreams is gradually coming down to a fair mark and has to be respected given his connections and makes more appeal than Strensall, who has struggled in two starts off his new mark since winning at Thirsk last month. Mick Easterby's Trick Cyclist has a 6lb penalty to carry for his defeat of Sir Sandrovitch (beaten again on Monday) at Carlisle last week and preference is for Henry Hall. Nigel Tinkler's gelding has not been harshly punished for his consistency and, from what looks to be a decent draw, he is given one more chance.
