        Verdict

        Rudi's Pet has shown something like his old form of late, including when successful under today's jockey at Musselburgh last time and makes most appeal in an uninspiring contest where Seven No Trumps and Absent Friends are rated the main dangers. The selection is not as good as he once was but showed at Musselburgh that he is still capable of decent form and, off what looks to be a fair mark, the 11-year-old is taken to follow up. Travelling Times has run with promise in his last two starts but faces no easy task at the weights today and of more interest may be the three-year-old Straffan, who receives plenty of weight from her older rivals. The eight-year-old Paddywack is capable of taking a hand on the pick of his form but is difficult to win with and a bigger threat is likely to come from Seven No Trumps. Milton Bradley could hardly have his team in better form at present but the son of Pips Pride would probably want a softer surface, while Absent Friends is well treated on official BHB ratings but could do with being in better form. Rudi's Pet is well treated at the weights and in form so he gets the vote.
