Verdict
Our shortlist for the finale consists of Threezedzz, Mister Trickster, Lord Chamberlain, Basinet and Just One Look, with the last-named getting a hopeful selection. While Just One Look has no form with give in it, she has a chance based on the bare evidence of her two-year-old form and showed much more than she had done of late when sixth over course and distance last time. It could be that this is her time of year and she could run well. Threezedzz comes here in excellent heart, having won three of his last five race and, even though he has a hefty weight to carry, can still be competitive from his current mark. Mister Trickster has claims as he is a course winner from just a three-pound lower mark and has proven that he acts on good to soft, while Lord Chamberlain is a course and distance winner from a five-pound lower mark and, much as most of his best form has come on good or quicker going, he does act on good to soft. It is interesting that Enna is well-weighted with Lord Chamberlain based on recent all-weather form, while Basinet holds a clear chance based on the fact that he is now racing from a seven-pound lower mark than when he won at Windsor last June, although the downside to his chance is that he a bit in-and-out formwise. Of the others, Compton Drake can be given a chance on his all-weather form, but he does seem better in that sphere which brings us back to the selection, which is Just One Look.
