In depth

Verdict

An intriguing contest for Class 5 company. Russco has completed a 7f hat-trick in three weeks under Ella McCain and is still not too badly treated after being raised a stone for those three wins. Jim Crowley is in the plate today and the gelding should prove competitive again, although he now drops to 6f. Portelet Bay, another solid chance on the card for David Evans, seeks his own three-timer after Bath and Yarmouth successes off what is an acceptable 4lb rise for his latest win and Danzart and Shrara are possibles, but MAAJDAH remains open to plenty of improvement and did well to beat a potentially useful sort at Yarmouth on just a third start for Wiliam Haggas.
