Verdict
Most of these are out of form but Castleshane can defy topweight against Silvaline and Market Avenue, a beaten favourite on his last start. Castleshane is a gutsy dual purpose performer and is no stranger therefore to humping big weights. His latest success came over hurdles at Chepstow, but a closer inspection of his form reveals that he has twice come good here at Chester. A confirmed front-runner, he will be able to dominate here much more than when trying similar tactics at Newmarket behind Pagan Dance in a classified event. Better treated here, Steve Gollings' charge can record another pillar-to-post success at the expense of Silvaline whose first visit to the Roodeye saw him run much too freely. Market Avenue has to put a disappointing effort at Nottingham behind her if she is to get the better of her two main market rivals.
