In depth
Verdict
A low draw is more than likely going to be the key in this contest, and Chico Guapo and Cape Royal could be the two to focus on, with the latter getting the nod. Chico Guapo has speed to burn. Just touched off here in May form a mark of 71, he can go well from just a two-pound higher mark and the number three box. Cape Royal is relatively unexposed but was considered good enough to run at Royal Ascot in the Balmoral Handicap last time. This track should suit better and he can go well under the champion jockey Kieren Fallon. He is closely weighted with Telepathic on that run but, while a good race looks to be in Telepathic, this track might not be ideal for him, despite his good berth. Inter Vision won here as a two-year-old but this season's efforts have not been encouraging so far. Roman Mistress's seventh in the 'Balmoral' - behind Telepathic but ahead of Cape Royal - also gives her chances, but Summer Lightning has to improve again from a narrow Ayr win. Obe One was sixth in the 'Balmoral' so comes into it on that basis, but is drawn out in number nine. Overall, then, the relatively unexposed Cape Royal is given the vote.
