In depth
Verdict
A five-furlong nursery, in which Tentative is given as a, well, tentative selection. Roger Charlton's filly has something to prove now after being turned over at odds on at Bath last time. However, the winner might be fairly good so, with Kieren Fallon booked, she is given another chance. Obe Bold's third to Nights Cross - who runs earlier on the card - reads pretty well in the context of this race, and she could go well. Billy Whip Top ran well here in first-time blinkers two runs ago, a repetition of which would give him claims, but he is not well drawn. Danifah's short head second to Barbilyrifle at Bath three runs ago reads well, but she hasn't built on that. However, a repeat of that run could bag her some money. Miss Mytton suggested last time that six furlongs might be more to her liking. Multiple Choice is lightly raced and may just be found out on these terms. Stealthelimelight ran fifth over six at Nottingham last time, the winner having gone on to land the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot. Don't be surprised to see him go well. Dolce Piccata has finished second in four of her six races to date and she again looks vulnerable. Harry Up is 12lbs worse off for the easy two-and-a-half lengths that he beat Danifah on Lingfield's all-weather on June 3, but his Windsor Castle Stakes fifth at Royal Ascot last time, entitles him to respect. Tentative was turned over at odds on at Bath last time and, while the winner might be fairly good, she has something to prove now. It's very tricky but the vote goes to Tentative.
