Verdict
Aside from last year's upset there are few long-priced winners of the May Hill and WHITE MOONSTONE looks set to be another who can justify favouritism. The Saeed Bin Suroor-trained pick followed-up her Ascot maiden win on debut with a very comfortable Group 3 success at Newmarket over 7f. In the process she proved herself on good to soft ground, and with this step up to a mile she can enhance her credentials for her next target, Ascot's Fillies' Mile. The most interesting of her opponents is Midnight Caller. John Gosden's filly went close here on debut before dotting up in a Leicester maiden. Cut suits and she could be anything, so if there is one major improver in the field here it is probably going to be her. Sonning Rose may be better for taking on her own sex and stepped up in distance, while conditions may be against Lily Again. White Moonstone is very much the one to beat.
