Derby entry Dhabyan is well regarded by connections and his trainer has been bullish about the form of the stable so he could be the call in this tricky conditions race. A winner at Kempton in August he was an unlucky loser at Sandown next time out before possibly meeting a couple of very useful types when beaten 3/4 of a length on his final appearance of the season at Newbury. Handily drawn here he should be able to land this before progressing to better things. Tacitus was highly tried last season after impressing many when winning his maiden at Windsor. Outclassed in Group 1 races at the backend of last season this looks more his level and could give the selection most to do. Polar Force ran in some important two-year-old races last season. However, his win ratio is poor and he is more exposed than most of these. He should run his usual honest race but find a couple too good. Bond Becks showed useful form over five furlongs last season. This step up in trip does not look sure to suit and is best watched on this occasion. Finger Of Fate is a consistent sort who has shown he stays this trip well. Fast ground would be a plus and he has place chances with his trainer being in such good form.
