Verdict
A large field goes to post for this maiden, The Privateer is taken to score. The colt by Bahamian Pirate showed enough last season notably when second behind Speed Cop to suggest he can win a race of this nature and he will be hard to beat with conditions in his favour. Foolish Thought rates the main danger. He showed enough in his native Ireland to suggest he can win a small race, and he will be a lot sharper for his recent pipe-opner on the AW at Wolverhampton. He is from a shrewd yard and any market confidence should be noted. Jagged was second in a maiden on his latest run in a Lingfield maiden behind Arabian Knight, if he can reproduce the same level of form on this his turf debut he would have definite place claims. Jalouhar also has placed form on the AW but he has had plenty of chances and he looks more exposed than most. Ridgeback and To Wit To Woo are both from the Barry Hills yard. Ridgeback will know more than he did on his debut last season while To Wit To Woo is an Effisio colt who is bred to do better in time. The remainder that have run have shown virtually nothing and are readily passed over.
