Verdict
Pulau Tioman bounced back to form when winning at Beverley last month but the second, First Love, has let the form down since and we prefer to side with Akshar, who looks to be on the upgrade judged by his win at Goodwood last week and is taken ahead of Broadway Score and Danelor. The selection is open to further improvement after just four career starts and, having needed every yard of the mile trip last time, should appreciate the return to this distance. Broadway Score has not been seen since winning the Rosebery Handicap at Kempton in April and has to be respected off only a 3lb higher mark, while Danelor lost no caste in defeat behind the well handicapped Lingo over course and distance when last seen and should be thereabouts again. Pagan Dance is likely to find this tougher than the six-runner race he won at Newmarket last time.
