Verdict
A tough race to call here for punters with very little between many of the leading lights but something has to win and the principals look to be Afeef, Counsel, Fletcher and Red Canyon and the tentative vote goes to Counsel. The selection was a good second behind Sea Squirt in similar grade last time out and need only; reproduce that effort to score. The shorter trip is a slight worry but he is more consistent than most. Afeef rates the main danger on his latest second behind Princess Aimee but he is not proven over a trip as far as this and for that reason he is opposed. Fletcher is another that could go well he is dropping in grade having been a fair sixth in a more competitive handicap behind Maybeseven last time so he is worth noting in the market. Red Canyon is another dropping in grade but he also has to improve he stays this far. Of the remainder Eviryn has dropped to a handy mark and is another that could go well but in a race that throws up more questions than answers and where stakes should be kept to a minimum for the winner we return to Counsel.
