Verdict
Alan King's Tathmin deserves to win a race of this nature after a string of consistent performances and has been helped by the handicapper who has dropped the gelding by 2lbs since his last run. However, a place may be the best that the son of Weldnaas may be capable of with Mithak in opposition. The Richard Phillips-trained gelding has run two fine races in defeat since his return; chasing home the progressive Sadler's Secret at Haydock before finding just The River Joker too good at Huntingdon last time. A reproduction of either of those runs should be good enough for the eight-year-old, who gets the TEAMtalk vote. High Drama has failed to complete in his last two starts and is probably best watched for the time, as is Snow Partridge, who has a long absence to overcome. Diorama ran a poor race at Plumpton last month and has much more to do off his new mark. Mrs Pickles has claims on running behind the selection at Huntingdon and has to be respected, while Audiostreetdotcom will find this company easier than when not disgraced behind Jurancon III at Cheltenham.
