Verdict

Chilberta King has won on this course and over the distance at Sandown but was well beaten in this a year ago when Lost In The Moment was just touched off by the Godolphin first string Opinion Poll. That latter scenario looks like repeating itself here as the Ascot Gold Cup winner Colour Vision has Frankie on board and not surprisingly looks the Godolphin first choice. However, close behind in third at Ascot was SADDLER'S ROCK, who had beaten Opinion Poll easily in the Doncaster Cup last year. He's 4lb better off with Colour Vision here and with the quicker ground in his favour can gain his revenge and take this. Simenon won twice at Royal Ascot, both times in the style of a very progressive stayer. He'll need to step up against the top performers but there's every chance of him doing so and he has to enter the equation.
