      Verdict

      With Capable Guest and Destinate doubtful stayers this may be best left to Mark Johnston's Hearthstead Wings, who is taken to resume winning ways. The son of In The Wings made a winning debut at Ripon in May and has lost no caste in defeat in two subsequent starts at Ascot and Newmarket. The step up to a mile should bring about plenty of improvement and, as he clearly goes well when fresh, a two-month break may well have done the colt the world of good. Nice Tune is less exposed than most but needs to step up considerably on her debut effort and of more interest may be John Gosden's Park Law, who has form in some decent company. Michael Bell's Alta Petens should do better now that he tackles a mile and has to be respected as do Capable Guest and Destinate but, as we have said, there are doubts as to whether this longer trip will suit that pair and preference is for Hearthstead Wings.
