In depth
Verdict
Rockburst and Strathtay have both shown promise from limited opportunities but Mick Channon looks to have found a suitable opportunity for Evanesce to finally open her account and the daughter of Lujain gets the vote. The selection has shown a consistent level of form in all four of her starts giving the indication that a step up to this trip would suit and she gets the vote. Rockburst stepped up on her debut effort to chase home Indibraun at Doncaster last month in similar company and has to be respected, while Strathtay ran promisingly on her debut at Ripon and should appreciate today's longer trip. Stablemate Chicago Nights looks the Haslam second string and of more interest may be David Barron's Almost Perfect, especially now that the yard is back among the winners. Dixie Queen and newcomer Eminence Gift are others worthy of a mention but Evanesce looks to have a straightforward task and gets the vote.
