Verdict

KRIPKE won his first handicap when successful over today’s trip at Pontefract. He’s 4lb higher for this but today’s opposition looks distinctly modest and David Barron’s charge can go in again. A winner in France, Markazi has yet to threaten since joining David O’Meara while Brilliant Vanguard landed a hat-trick in 2017 but hasn’t won since. Novice winner Universal Gleam has been gelded and undergone wind surgery since last in action while Windsor Cross recorded last year’s success at Ripon over a longer trip.
