      Verdict

      Lexington Warfare was still well beaten when third at Ripon on his debut but BYLINE finished less than a length behind the winner at Ayr on his introduction. Kevin Ryan’s colt finished in front of a subsequent winner so the form looks solid enough and he can go one better. Mark Johnston trained the winner of the selection’s race and runs Dark Regard, the second foal of a Listed sprinter, while fellow newcomers My Dandy Doc and Magic Timing are both related to a host of winners. Rominintheglomin is hard to recommend on the evidence of a poor debut effort here though she did miss the break.
