    Verdict

RAIN CAP has been allotted a 5lb penalty for last week’s win at Catterick and he’ll be popular in his bid to win this race for a second year in succession. Agonyclite gets a chance to reverse the form of that defeat and will be significantly better off at the weights. Kraken Florida is unexposed on Turf and the Newcastle winner is one to note closely in the market. The Gay Blade is 1lb below his last winning mark but has to bounce back quickly from a disappointing effort at Ayr. He was behind stablemate Zegos Surprise on that occasion and Andrew Mullen elects to sticks with the mare. Sharrabang has framed up on a couple of previous visits to this track and is respected.
