In depth

Verdict

Roger Varian is a rare visitor to these parts so BOTANICAL (NAP) is backed to get off the mark having caught the eye on his debut at Kempton Park. Crack Shot defied market weakness to win readily in a maiden at Nottingham and he may be capable of defying the penalty accrued for those labours. Unlimited is yet to offer much in two starts but he wasn’t a cheap buy at the sales and he’ll be qualified for handicaps after this appearance. Jim Goldie has three in the race and Time To Spark may be the best of these having kept on stoically at Doncaster. Be Rural is closely related to middle distance winners on the Flat.
