Verdict
Jordan's Elect is taken to score at the expense of topweight Regent's Secret, with Wahoo Sam and Apache Point others worth noting. There are no less than six course and distance winners in this line-up, including Jordan's Elect who has not actually won since last year, but he has the beating of Regent's Secret on their running here in June, being a massive 24lb better off for the length that separated them that day. He is well drawn and his turn is near. Regent's Secret is something of a standing dish at the Scottish track, with eight of his last nine racecourse appearances coming here, and he is sure to have his supporters still, despite having his fair share of weight. Wahoo Sam was successful four times here in all for David Barron. The five-year-old came good at the first time of asking for Kevin Ryan when winning at Ripon at the end of last month, but again he looks held by the selection now based on when they met in a qualifier for this final in July. Apache Point has a good draw and may well be flying at the finish, but by then Jordan's Elect will hopefully have the race sewn up.
