Verdict
Regal Connection has the edge in experience, and Mark Johnston's filly should make no mistake this time, with the disappointing Crimson Flame and Opera Comica taken to give her most to do. Regal Connection has been placed on each of her last three starts, including at York the time before last in the race won by Missoula. She failed to step up on that at Redcar next time when beaten two-lengths by Dee Day, but the winner is well regarded and she meets nothing of that calibre here. Crimson Flame works well at home but has so far failed to translate that ability to the racetrack and is best watched, while Opera Comica shaped well at Chepstow but definitely looks one for next season. Hard To Explain is yet another John Fretwell owned youngster, and any support at all in the ring for the son of Marju should be seriously noted, but we prefer to stick with the proven form of Regal Connection.
