In depth

Verdict

Copper Knight is a York specialist but was behind ATALIS BAY (NAP), Nomadic Empire and stablemate Sunday Sovereign on the Knavesmire last month. Bob Cowell’s charge has been steadily coming to hand and, a past winner here, looks ready to open his seasonal account now. Despite a 3lb rise for winning at Goodwood, Lord Riddiford is probably still on a decent mark but Alligator Alley has gone up 7lb for winning a lesser contest at Thirsk and Korker is still 8lb higher than when winning at York in May. Call Me Ginger was a beaten favourite at Musselburgh last time and is 3lb higher in the weights now.
