      In depth

      Verdict

Acuzio was good value for his win at Musselburgh last week and is taken to defy a 5lb penalty and follow up at the main expense of Oddsmaker and Gallego. The selection is still well treated on the pick of his form of last season and is equally effective over this trip as the 1m4f that he won over at Musselburgh so Mark Brisbourne's gelding has solid claims. Mick Easterby's Gala Sunday came good in a banded race at Wolverhampton last month but disappointed on a return visit to the venue subsequently so may now be best watched, while stablemate Westcourt Dream could probably do with some help from the handicapper. Oddsmaker is improving with racing this term and has slipped to a fair mark so has to be considered along with Gallego, although he may be a shade high in the weights at present and is due to go down 2lbs in future handicaps. Acuzio has solid claims on recent evidence and remains on a fair mark despite the penalty so he gets the vote.
