Verdict
Some choicely-bred newcomers add some spice however WAFEIRA was an 11/4 favourite for her racecourse debut and despite disappointing, better is expected today; Galloping Queen and Half Truth may be the fillies who give her most to think about. Henry Cecil's Dansili filly is bred to improve with time so it was perhaps no real surprise that she fluffed the start on debut at Newmarket and never looked like featuring. Six furlongs would appear to be the absolute minimum for this stoutly-bred filly but her class may see her through this afternoon. Sweetie Time showed some decent early dash on her HQ debut but she weakened out of it and was well-held at the line. Again her position in the betting suggested that more was expected and she is not ignored today. Khor Sheed is bred to be smart but, like the majority of this field, over further, whilst Bold Bidder looked clueless on debut and will need to be more streetwise today with Paul Hanagan booked for the ride. Of more interest is Galloping Queen; she is from more of a sprinting family than many of her rivals and she needs watching for market support. Another newcomer to monitor closely is Half Truth. It would be no lie to say that her trainer has started his career well and this half-sister to the high-class Fleeting Spirit will be involved in the finish if she has inherited half of her sister's ability. Open stuff then, but another chance is given to Wafeira.
