Verdict
LITTLE GARCON looks a young sprinter going places and Marco Botti's gelding is selected here in preference to Ghostwing, Below Zero and Walvis Bay. A winner at Lingfield on his last run in April, the selection has a 4lb higher mark to contend with today but that looks workable. He ran fairly well on debut at Newmarket on his sole turf start so conditions should be no problem today and this hold-up performer will go close if getting the gaps late on. Walvis Bay will improve on his midfield finish behind Kellys Eye at Ripon with the run under his belt, Sunraider held every chance at Nottingham last time and may be high enough in the handicap after his third to Mister Hughie in April, whilst Ghostwing revelled in the visor at Chester but his profile indicates that a follow-up win may be unlikely after a 6lb rise in the weights. Below Zero appears to be edging down to a fair handicap mark despite a solid run behind Swilly Ferry last month, Ginger Ted sprang a surprise at Hamilton last time out and is considered if taking up this engagement, whilst Diman Waters has looked very progressive but he needs to prove that this extra furlong will suit. A terrific little sprint where we are happy to plump for Little Garcon.
