Verdict

A trappy renewal of this Group 3 event but it may pay to stick with Bustan whose only career defeat came at Royal Ascot in June behind Balakheri. Bustan didn't get the run of the race there and is better judged on his previous listed success at Newmarket. Although he's yet to encounter really soft ground his pedigree suggests that he should handle it well enough and he could have too many gins for the gallant Common World. Common World has made tremendous progress this term, was only just touched off at The Curragh last time, and with his stable in sensational form of late he looks sure to go close. Carnival Dancer is a high class performer but would appear to have had his training problems of late having been seen only once this term and may still be a little ring rusty, whilst Vintage Premium looks to have a stiff task stepping up in grade and may be found wanting even though he'll love the soft ground. Johannian is unlikely to be suited by the conditions and together with Sosumi and outsider Sunny Glen looks to have a daunting task.
