In depth

Lola's Theme was staying on over a slightly shorter trip at Chester on Thursday and is worth a second look if turned out again quickly but POLITICISE (NAP) looks the one to be on. William Haggas’ gelding was slowly away on his reappearance at Musselburgh but stayed on strongly behind a subsequent easy winner with Thursday’s Chester scorer Lincoln Park more than a length away in fourth. Oasis Prince and House Of Kings are both having their first run in a handicap and may improve further and Big Baby Bull has a chance on his defeat of Fox Power at Doncaster last year but may need further this season. Loch Ness Monster ran well at Sandown but there are going concerns here.

Big Baby Bull (IRE) 14-1 (9-7) Tracked leading pair, went 2nd halfway, pushed along and every chance 2f out, ridden and lost 2nd over 1f out, weakened inside final furlong, 5th of 9, 8l behind Private Secretary (9-1) at Sandown 1m 2f hcp (3) gf in Apr.

Oasis Prince 4-7fav (9-9) Made all, quickened tempo inside final 2f, ran on, won at Beverley 1m stks (5) gf in Apr beating International Guy (9-2) by 1 1/4l, 4 ran.

House Of Kings (IRE) 5-2 (9-2) Tracked leaders, ridden to lead just inside final furlong, edged left and ran on, won at Leicester 7f stks (4) gd in Sep beating Global Hero (9-8) by 1 1/4l, 11 ran.

Loch Ness Monster (IRE) 16-1 (9-1) Held up and behind, good headway on outside and switched left 2f out, ridden over 1f out, stayed on into 2nd well inside final furlong, lost that placing towards finish, 3rd of 10, 1 1/2l behind Masaru (9-7) at Sandown 1m hcp (2) gf in Apr.

Politicise (IRE) 11-4jfav (9-3) Held up in rear, pushed along over 3f out, switched left over 2f out, headway over 1f out, stayed on, went 3rd towards finish, unable to challenge, 3rd of 7, 1 3/4l behind Coolagh Forest (8-12) at Musselburgh 1m hcp (2) gd in Apr.

Harvey Dent 9-2 (9-3) Tracked leaders, effort over 2f out, soon lost place, last of 9, 15 3/4l behind Sameem (9-5) at Redcar 1m 2f hcp (4) gd in Apr.

Lola's Theme 10-1 (8-10) Dwelt in rear, pushed along over 4f out, kept on final furlong, never nearer, 5th of 11, 4 3/4l behind Lincoln Park (9-1) at Chester 1m hcp (2) sft in May.
