In depth

Verdict

BOLD CROSS caught the eye last time out and is taken to win this handicap at the expense of Brasingaman Hifive and Sparton Duke. The selection ran a close second behind Uncle Fred at Newbury last time out. He is only one pound higher in the weights as a result and he looks more than capable of winning a race of this nature and is difficult to oppose. Bransingaman Hifive ran well over course and distance when finishing third of twelve recently, but that was on a much softer surface and conditions this time around are not likely to be in his favour so he should be treated with caution. Sparton Duke has run well off a higher mark in the past but he is becoming a frustrating horse to follow having not won in eighteen months. That said he has dropped to an all time low mark so any support in the market should be noted. Bold Cross is the form horse in the race and if recapturing his recent form he is sure to go close.
