Verdict
A competitive little vent can go to Sharpastrizam ahead of Ichi Beau, Caitriona';s Choice, Super Nomad, Sir Storm and Flahive's First. The selection has scored from a four-pound higher mark than today's and comes here in good heart following a Catterick success. His stable is now showing signs of form and he is gets our vote. Ichi Beau is still well handicapped at best and came good at Aintree last time, but this looks more competitive. Sir Storm won off a highest-ever mark last time but is closely weighted with Super Nomad now on the back of that effort. Caitriona's Choice is only a pound higher than for his Perth win and is closely weighted with Ichi Beau on November Aintree form. Aelred, Sir Norman and Asparagus need career bests to score but Flahive's First is on the same mark as when scoring at Cartmel in August, although he is something of a specialist there. El Bandito is hard to fancy following a poor Hereford performance. This leads us back to Sharpastrizam who can win here for Peter Beaumont.
