In depth

Verdict

Just the four runners but this is a very good race, one in which Our Armageddon might well get the better of Caracciola. The Richard Guest-trained selection has won four of his five novice-chase starts and is improving with every run. The Arkle Chase has already been mentioned as a target and, with Larry McGrath also taking five pounds off his back, holds a good chance of gaining another win. Useful hurdler Caracciola makes his debut over fences here but, sure to have been well-schooled by Nicky Henderson's team, can give the selection the most to do. Better Days made a very encouraging chasing debut at Southwell, where he beat a stablemate of the selection, before falling next time, so holds claims, while Bob's Buster looks the outsider here even though he has won at handicap level over fences. All in all, then, it's Our Armageddon to continue on his winning ways.
