Verdict

The best race on the card by a long way and one in which Big Bad Bob can get the better of Unigold. Big Bad Bob ran very well to be second to eventual Derby winner Kris Kin in the Dee Stakes in May, but then flopped at Royal Ascot. A repeat of his Chester run - particularly as he is favoured here by the race-weights - should see him go close. Unigold finished second to High Accolade in the Predominate Stakes before finishing last-but-two in the Vodafone Derby, one place ahead of the Italian Derby third Lundy's Lane, who has to concede weight to the field. The well-bred Dubai Success is very hard to assess on the back of a facile Ripon maiden success, but a lot more will be needed here. The other two are going to be available at big prices. Overall, then, Big Bad Bob has a clear chance of getting back to winning ways.
