    Verdict

THE NIGHT WATCH settled matters authoritatively in the closing stages at Newmarket in a decent handicap and looks the sort to progress again for the Haggas and Tudhope combination which has enjoyed a stellar season to date. Tenax proved threequarters of a length too good for Pendelton over course and distance earlier this month but the latter is now 8lb better off and should turn the tables on a point of handicapping with ground conditions unchanged. Both are going the right way and expect there to be little between them. Power Link is back with James Tate but is hard to assess as he's been absent since runs in Meydan and Jebel Ali for the Jadhav yard.
