Verdict
Pongee can turn the tables on Desert Royalty to take this Listed prize, with Felicity and Thingmebob best of the rest. Luca Cumani's Pongee put in an eye-catching effort at Salisbury on her belated comeback nine days ago, finishing well up the far rail to be third to Desert Royalty. That was her first outing in 266 days and she will be much sharper. In addition she is better off at the weights with Desert Royalty and is taken to beat that rival. Mind you the latter was not winning out of turn and comes from a stable that is ticking over nicely, so will not go down without a fight. Felicity gained her second Group placing when third at Cork eight days ago and should be up to winning a race of this nature. She is on the short-list as well, along with Thingmebob, ridden by George Duffield, who partnered last year's winner Albanova. Any money for Chantress would be interesting as well, but in a tight little affair on paper, we look to Pongee to step up on her comeback to prevail.
