          Verdict

          A typically open sprint handicap and narrow preference is for Viewforth while other leading contenders include Trinculo, Not So Dusty and Sierra Vista. The selection has been in excellent form since being switched to the Ian Semple yard, recording back-to-back handicap wins here and at Beverley during the summer. The five-year-old looked unlucky when badly impeded in the Ayr Silver Cup last week but still finished a creditable fifth and looks sure to go well off his current mark from a favourable draw. Trinculo appeared to excel himself when a close third behind the smart Atavus in a conditions event at Yarmouth last time but was given a most enterprising ride on that occasion and was possibly flattered by his finishing position. Nick Littmoden's charge faces a sterner test here while Not So Dusty has been below par of late but has solid claims on her earlier success at Chester so can't be dismissed despite top weight. There is little between Blackheath and Sierra Vista on their running over course and distance earlier this month and both are respected while Seven No Trumps is on a fair mark if putting his best foot forward but Viewforth has plenty in his favour and can lift the prize.
