Verdict

Elegiac is not the most consistent but beat Amourice at Newmarket back in July and the latter went on to score over today’s trip at the same track. Mt Augustus failed to cope with a 7lb rise last time having won at Headquarters earlier while Ffos Las runner-up Fannie By Gaslight steps up in trip along with Morning Wonder. The latter went close at Chester on his handicap bow but CANFORD HEIGHTS (NAP) is also unexposed having romped home by eight lengths over 1m4f on the all-weather and the Haggas gelding gets the vote now handicapping.
