Verdict

A competitive finale for the grade can go to Lutin Du Moulin, who gets the nod over the veteran In Good Faith, who still retains plenty of enthusiasm despite his advancing years. End Of An Error and Pikestaff are others to monitor for signs of each-way support. Pikestaff was still in contention when he fell during his latest start and has sound place claims on the pick of his form. He is a previous course and distance winner and, as he has won off this mark in the past, could still be well treated at present. End Of An Error stays this trip well and has shaped as if he is running into form of late. Owen Nelmes gets on well with him and the partnership are worth factoring into betting plans if they are supported. In Good Faith won well at Sedgefield last week and comes into the race with a live chance if repeating the effort today. His 7lb penalty is effectively negated by his rider's claim and another bold bid cannot be ruled out. However, Lutin Du Moulin is open to far more improvement that the rest and, having proved himself effective on most types of ground, the burden of top weight is not expected to be too much of a hindrance to this progressive individual today.
