Verdict
Multeen River has done little wrong since switching to fences and he looks difficult to oppose in the Novice Chase. A one-length victory over Ryders Storm could have been many more had Liam Cooper decided not to showboat aboard him at Southwell and today's surface should hold few problems. Inca Trail is a full brother to Best Mate. He landed a soft ground maiden at Ludlow in January before being outclassed in the top Novice Hurdle events at Aintree and Cheltenham. It is not beyond the realms of possibility that he has improved but his action suggests that he may require some give in the ground to be at his best. Polish Pilot is plenty exposed while Silent Sound was plating class over hurdles and has little in the way of chase form to recommend him. Multeen River is hardly an original choice but he does look a very exciting recruit to the Novice ranks.
