Verdict
A moderate affair in which worthwhile form is in incredibly short supply due to a plethora of absences and unfinished races. Masters of War went into many notebooks when staying on at Bangor during his first start for two years. The once-useful Sharpastrizam was behind him on that occasion and today's handicap mark of 87 looks ripe for exploitation. The Rebel Lady ran a career best when finishing eighth to Ar Muin Na Muice in the mares hurdle final at Newbury over 2m5f. She was racing with 9lb of overweight on that day and was not knocked about when disappointing in a subsequent race at Ludlow. The market should tell us much about how she has schooled over the larger obstacles. Josh Gifford was renowned for his powers of bringing back racehorses from the brink and it is hoped that his son has inherited that same knack with Wise Reflection. Wise Reflection was rated 105 at his peak over chase fences and has been dropped to 97 on his return from 904 days absence. He has won around here before and this is far from the strongest of contests. L'Orphelin soon threw in the towel after making mistakes on his chasing debut and did not look the same horse that beat The Villager in a Ludlow bumper. The remainder are distinctly moderate. Masters of War is selected to minimal stakes in a race that will throw up as many questions as answers.
