Verdict

Steps ran with promise on debut at Nottingham last time but it wouldn't do to get too carried away with that form given the proximity of the 68-rated third there, so while he may prove good enough we prefer to side with DAFFYDOWNDILLY. Hughie Morrison clearly thinks that this Oasis Dream filly has some ability, having run her in a very valuable sales race at Newmarket last time. She may not have handled the soft ground there but the experience will do her no harm and now tried here she can improve. Soft ground lover New Latin carries the hopes of Paul Hanagan here, while Richard Hughes rides Enlightening, who may prove a better proposition back on a quicker surface.
