Verdict

Callmecosmo might be a warm order here and he gets the call over Calcot Flyer, Reel Dancer and Benefit. The selection comes into this race on the back of a Doncaster beginners' chase win. Ok, that performance is nothing to get too carried away by but, only lightly raced, he should be given the benefit of any doubt that might exist regarding his progressing from there because he looks to be on a fair mark. Charlies Future remains consistent but is struggling to get his head in front, Calcot Flyer looked to be improving at Leicester last time, Reel Dancer should strip fitter for his last run, his first since 2003, when he had looked very promising, Benefit at least knows how to win and should be competitive from today's mark, Dun Locha Castle has a similar profile for this race, Kappelhoff seemed to show improvement last time, and Philip Hobbs' Would You Believe would be interesting if backed. The remainder do not look a great bunch, which spins us back to Callmecosmo, who is taken to score.
