In depth

Verdict

A potentially trappy contest where the vote goes to the unexposed BEGGAR'S OPERA. John Gosden has kept back the Singspiel colt since he proved a game winner of a Lingfield maiden over this trip in the spring. His mark looks very fair judged on that effort and with the yard's runners in good shape he might be good enough to score on his handicap debut ,against his own age group. Ipswich Lad has blinkers applied after a dismal effort last time and has a bit to prove and Sierra Alpha should go better now dropped back to this trip. The return to 1m 4f should also suit On Khee, though the handicapper appeared to be asking too much of her last time. Deauville Post has dropped to an attractive mark and could prove a big danger back at this distance.
