Verdict
Den's Gift, Bahar Shumaal and Jo'Burg all make the shortlist and we are with Den's Gift. The perennial front runner has proved a big disappointment this term and while it is slightly disappointing for connections that the handicapper decided to stick him up 2lb for a near miss - if he gets a soft lead, he may not come back. Bahar Shumaal has dropped massively down the weights over the last year. Forcing tactics appear to be his best hope today. Jo'Burg is persisted with in blinkers. Proven on the fast ground, the market is watched. Clipperdown has shown little since arriving from America. Dado Mush has ran creditably at Southwell in winter and it remains to be seen whether he can repeat this on the turf. Baizically takes a huge drop in trip having ran up to two miles in the past. The Fifth Member conversely steps up in trip following efforts over seven. Den's Gift has certainly had many chances but with trip and going to suit, he is our selection.
