Verdict

Aidan O'Brien has three entries in this lucrative handicap with Ryan Moore on board Persia, a close second in a Group 3 here last October before scoring at Chelmsford the following month but not seen since. Seamie Heffernan is on Monument Valley, who ran in a Curragh Group 3 behind stablemate Delphi last time, while Wayne Lordan takes the ride on Shoshone Warrior, who won over slightly shorter here in July. Willie Mullins has won this twice in recent years and is double-handed. Buildmeupbuttercup was beaten a neck in this a year ago when attempting to concede the winner 15lb. He's won over hurdles since beaten when favourite at Galway and will make a bold bid to go one better than a year ago from the same mark with Joey Sheridan's claim taken into account. EMPEROR OF THE SUN has been competing at a high level and been unfortunate to come up against in-form rivals. He's handed the vote though the lightly-raced Mirann looks capable of progressing to Pattern-race company so should give a good account.
