Verdict

Aidan O'Brien has won six of the last eight and Van Gogh flies the flag for the yard here. He's probably been waiting to step up to a mile though he'll need to improve on his run behind Mac Swiney in the Group 2 Futurity. CADILLAC finished runner-up that day and may have won but for running green. He was only beaten half-a-length and had Snapraeterea 2 lengths back in fourth though the latter was also staying on and will be suited by the extra furlong. His yard is also represented by Liffey River, who had a ton in hand when landing a Punchestown maiden, while Ideas Of August gained plenty of admirers when beating subsequent winner Southern Cape over 7f here in June. Fernando Vichi sauntered home in a track and trip maiden in July and is greatly respected.
