Verdict
Only the most tentative of votes goes to the unexposed Grand Ideas, as this is a horrible race for punting purposes with none of the field standing out as a reliable selection. Lakota Brave will no doubt attract his old faithful supporters, as he at least arrives here on the back of a good performance and is a serious contender at this level; despite his advancing years. However, he will struggle to confirm recent form with Zarfash on these terms and David Evans' charge could pose the selection the most problems today. Shamrock City also comes into the argument on these terms and he could easily make the frame if he put his mind to it. However, this one-time Listed race winner very rarely consents to show his true ability on the racecourse these days and is for the brave only. Analyze has adapted well to this surface and has some credible efforts to his name at a low level. However, he may be better off in receipt of weight nowadays and he may again leave his fans on the brink if things do not go his own way. Therefore, it can pay to side with Grand Ideas, as he has already shown a real liking for this surface. The six-year-old has never previously raced at in this grade, but his connections have shown great faith in keeping him in training as a six-year-old and they will rarely find a better opening for him to start paying his way.
