      Verdict

      Blackmail has shown more resolution in his races since being fitted with blinkers and is taken to defy top weight in a tight betting contest. The Brooke Sanders-trained gelding ended a long losing sequence when landing a competitive handicap over course and distance last month with Kelpie behind and held on similar terms. The son of Twining has run well in defeat since, putting up a useful effort when a close fifth in a Class C handicap here last weekend so looks sure to go well with Richard Quinn in the plate in what could turn out to be a tactical affair. Hat-trick seeking Marjurita has shown her winning form on Fibresand of late while maiden winner Wunderwood faces a stiffer task against more experienced rivals. Carrowdore won a Goodwood nursery off a mark of 70 last year but hasn't been seen since running moderately here in December and there are stamina doubts over this trip.
