An interesting maiden with some unexposed sorts from powerful yards making their all-weather debuts but the vote goes to Summer Recluse who can take advantage of his proven track craft. Brett Johnson's charge has shown enough in two recent starts over course and distance to suggest he should have little difficulty in picking up a race of this nature. The son of Cozzene was a close fourth in a minor event behind yesterday's handicap winner Miss George here last month before making a return visit 10 days later in maiden company. The four-year-old travelled well on the latter occasion but was given too much to do in the closing stages and, despite finishing strongly, had to settle for the runners-up berth. Kept closer to the pace, he can make amends under Dane O'Neill. Barry Hills has a fine record here particularly in maidens so Grand Halo, who showed some promise on turf last term, looks sure to go well while Richard Hannon saddles Tuppenny Blue, a newcomer who makes plenty of appeal on breeding and should be noted in the market. Lawood has shown his best turf form on good ground so should appreciate the surface and will prove a big danger while Its Ecco Boy, who has some useful placed efforts in handicap company to his name, looks best of the remainder.
