Verdict
An intriguing two mile handicap with plenty of the 14 runners having claims. Topweight Amigo has yet top prove that he stays this trip and is difficult to recommend even with Kieren Fallon taking the ride. The William Jarvis-trained Flownaway has won his last two starts but they have been at Southwell and the son of Polar Falcon has yet to show a similar level of ability on the Polytrack. Brian Meehan's Mystic Forest showed improved form to win a similar contest at Southwell on his most recent start and, while the return to this surface should not pose a problem, he faces a stiffer task off a 6lb higher mark. Gary Moore's Harik should appreciate the longer trip today having been running over shorter distances on recent starts on the level (good second over course and distance a year ago) and warrants respect but the selection is Sashay. Clive Cox's mare was a winner over this trip at Wolverhampton two starts ago and lost no caste in defeat off her new mark when fourth to Amir Zaman (2lbs worse for two lengths) in a slowly run race last month. The winner benefited from racing close to the pace that day and was probably flattered by his margin of victory under a good ride from Eddie Ahern. The fourth can reverse form here.
