        Verdict

        A winner of his only start in a bumper, Modaffaa made a winning start to his flat racing career when landing a maiden over course and distance in November but this looks tougher on his debut in a handicap and preference is for Sun Hill, who gets the verdict over Nawow. The last mentioned has a 6lb penalty to carry for his win over 1m5f here last time and that leaves him with more to do. Gary Moore's Cold Turkey can never be discounted round here and is another to consider along with Paul Cole's Blaze of Colour although this looks tougher than the race that he won at Wolverhampton last time. Dovedon Hero may now be a shade high in the weights and of more interest may be True Companion, who has run well off the same mark in his last two starts. Modaffaa obviously has to be respected and could well be up to the task but his lack of experience is of concern and a safer option looks to be Sun Hill, who held on well to beat Stallone at Wolverhampton last month and holds solid claims off just a 2lb higher mark.
